OK, so, a few updates here.
The banner ads are for register.com, they are the ONLY banner ads I'll put up. I get no money at all for clicks, so it's no harm in doing so if you'd like to see what register.com offers. However, if you even intend on buying a domain name from register.com, please do so by clicking that link and then following through with the procedure. I get 20% commission on all .com, .net, and .org sales plus various commissions on other extensions, sometimes even better than 20%.
Is this selling out? I don't believe so, it's just a nice way to make money. I am in no way asking anyone to say, click three banner ads before entering my site of 30 pop ups. No, I have one simple, rotating ad. I like the orange one.
OK, in other news. TheSpork.net is coming along nicely. I'm very close to having a fully functioning user administration page, in which case I can then build off of that and create links such as news posting (which I want to be my next full fledged script), user polls, and more. My last project will be a shopping cart, and I really want this done within a month. CRAZY, I know, but I want an alternative source of money, becuase I have a lot of crap I need to buy. Just take a look at the story I'm about to tell you.
I get home from prom saturday afternoon. Prom was one of the most amazing nights of my life, probably the best dance function I've gone to yet. Anyway, upon return from the event the next day, I discovered we'd had a power surge of sorts in our house. Turn on my computer, and my entire D Drive is crapped out. Tells me that it needs to be formatted. I'm like WHAT IN THE DIRTY CRACK. So yeah, emailed ontrack and they gave me a quote ... 100 dollars just for the estimate, and then 600 MINIMUM if the damage isn't bad. I'm like "SCREW THAT."
So yeah, just basically lost 20 gigs of mp3's and I'm not happy about it at all. Six years of my life went into that music, it's what made me who I am today. And it's all gone. Every nine inch nails cd, from halo 1 to halo 17. 100% of all the good KMFDM albums and about 90% of their total album collection. Every Incubus, every OLP, every Eve 6, every radiohead, 6 radiohead bootlegs, Phish, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Korn, Limp Bizkit, I had ALL these bands albums. Sure, I don't like some of them now, like KoRn and Limp Bizkit, but I used to. BT, Moby, Sneaker Pimps, Portishead, SQUAREPUSHER. How does one deal with losing all that much music? While I love it all a lot, I'm not paying 700 dollars for it. Never in my life.
So, it's time I went and bought two 60 gig or so drives, ata100 of the same size, and raid them together, redundancy style. Maybe I'll get four of the same hard drive if I can find that and redundancy and stripe ... that'd be kick ass ... That'd be MAJORLY kickass actually.
So yeah, that was my story. I also wanted a new computer this summer, a fast one, alienware preferably. Also wanted to hit up the digital dv camcorder front. How am I going to afford all this? Building websites.
So yeah, gonna go do my last homework of the year.
Spork.
