Dear Viewers! (as in the common people, the lay people, the NON-SPORKOP PEOPLE)
WELL! Quite a change indeed. Notice something different? No, this time it's not flashy new layouts with a customizing script.
Did somebody order comments?! (actually, Jo did for her own site, so I wrote it for mine first). Now everday users can comment! Marc Farris, I know this is your dream come true! Finally you can say "hah, what a dumbass" to everything I write! Or, other users can post THEIR input on shiat like Music when we talk about it, or bashing emo! (Maybe it's time for another emohatefest ... nah)
Right now, anybody can post anonymously, but with no HTML. Those with .NET logins however ARE allowed to post with HTML, and I know many would love to be one of the special people who can post as a SporkOP, but I don't like SporkOPS cause they never post. So I plan to eventually phase them out (shh, don't tell them). The plan is for a sort of TheSpork.NET portal where people can come together and read news/discussion topics and then post their say. It'll sort of be like SlashDot.org in which the ops there post news and then the users talk about it. What'll be the theme? Well, I actually have no idea. That's sort of where SporkOPs come in because they provide feedback. I dunno.
But regardless, go have fun with it.
Note to SporkOPS - You have the options of posting with HTML, editing/deleting your comments, and also editing/deleting the anonymous comments beneath your own post. So make sure you're logged in each time you comment!

HTML DOESN'T WORK!!!! as anonymous
HTML WORKS! as .net login
the new layout looks very similar to that of the Live Journal. I like it though.
How? Their site is blue, orange, and a whole lot of whitespace. Perhaps somebody has configured a similar layout for their own livejournal, but I don't read any livejournals. Except markutio's. And his doesn't look like this either.
Or perhaps you mean the anonymous comments and .net login feature? This is actually a very common thing to do. Plenty of sites use it.
livejournals can look like this if you want them to. they just don't because they don't kick nearly as much ass as you do. so there.

FUCK YOU AND YOUR NOT WORKING HTML
Don't worry, once I'm done with applications and such, I'll have time to create a basic user role seperate from the SporkOP role in which you can type YOUR username and password into those shiny white boxes and post with HTML.
But that'll include some sort of html filter algorithm so that people don't post html that might steal cookies, or javascript redirects and such. (totally possible).

hey Spork, being as this in old post, i dont know if you'll catch this comment, but i have a sugestion. Every now and then, put in an empty post so those of us without SporkOp status can comment on anyhting we want without it having to be relevant to the Post. Say, if i wanted to rant about something or ask a question to everyone, i acnt right now cause it wont go with any Post, it would be offensive to the person who wrote the post if i comment on something completely off subject. Just a suggestion.

Well, the point is not really to be a message board ... I still want some sort of POINT to this all, and also, the purpose isn't necessarily for people to just rant. Yes, I'm here to stimulate conversation, but I also want some organization to it all. Maybe I'll put up a real message board later on, but for now, I like it how it is posting a comment and giving people time to comment. The purpose is more like a news panel ... we sporkops discuss, and users read. The anonymous posting is just an added bonus.
Oh, and I made this page so that I could see all the newest comments just in case someone posted on an old newslink. There's a link to this page on the front of thespork.com.
