Alright, so I'm picking up

Alright, so I'm picking up my brother from his friend's house. My Dad was putting some air into the tires of my Jeep because their pressure was way too low. So I asked which car to take, and he tells me to take the Jaguar. So I drive and get Jimmy from Charlie Peabody's house, and pulling out of Falls Creek and when all the cars clear for me to go, I pull out. As I'm doing so, a cop comes over the hill, and I think OK, I better watch everything I do. So I can't remember what the speed limit is on Brownsboro (or is it called US-42 out there?) So I'm doing about 40-45, and then I see the speed limit is 45, so I'm like ok, gonna go 45.

Then the cop starts to ride my blind spot. This whole time I've been making comments to Jim like "uh oh, 5-0, better watch what I do" but now I'm actually getting nervous. Why would a cop purposely ride my blind spot. So, getting uneasy, I tell Jimmy that if he makes the motion to go straight on Brownboro, I'm gonna go the highway, and he if he goes the highway, I'm going to go straight on Brownboro. Well, it looks as if he's going straight so I cut into the highway lane and he jerks over as well, I go down the ramp and suddenly he turns on his lights. I'm like WTF!

I pull over, Jimmy's like "this is weird" I'm like "I didn't do anything wrong, he probably just doesn't trust two kids driving a Jaguar." Cop walks over says "Is this your car?" and I reply "It's my Dad's." I hand him my license, and then he asks for the insurance on the car, I pull that out and show it to him then he says "Did you know your registration on this car is expired?" I'm thinking "Great, thanks a lot Dad." I respond "I had no idea." He goes back to his car with my license and starts filling out papers, I sit there and say to Jim "Thanks a lot, Dad."

The cop comes back, gives me my citation papers and my license back, and Jimmy and I leave. What crap is that!

um, trying to lose him might not have been the brightest idea you ever had

pretty ghey though. cops suck, even when they're just doing their job

No, Jimmy wanted to lose him. Unless you mean when I wanted to go the highway when he went brownsboro or vice versa. But that was just crafty driving, cause it's a real slow area cause of like ten stop lights ten feet apart, so it's real easy to get onto the highway without looking suspicious. He just already had it out for me.

nothing's ever your fault, is it?

personally, i like the cops. I dont understand why everyone is quick to jump on their case and call them corrupt or power hungry. True, there are a few of those pricks out there, but thats the same for everything in life. I dont want to live in an area devoid of police protection. That's my two cents anyways.

Genesis 1:29
Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food

P.S.
Do people prefer the NIV, which is easier to read but may have some translating errors, or the KJV, which is harder to understand but is more accurate? Or, if I can find it, start putting the versus in Hebrew. Which might be cool.

The Message is the most accurate version out there right now. However, it doesn't contain verse numbers which is weird, but it is the best translation in my opinion.

when you see a cop in the rear view do you get nervous about doing something wrong or do you feel secure knowing that the community is safe?

if you say "nervous" then that defines the entire problem with them, and if you say "secure" you're a liar (and living under a rock)

Exactly, I consider myself a pretty safe driver, as well as a good driver (my driving instructor from AAA made sure that I realized the difference that between the two), even though I sometimes go over the speed limit. Yet when I see a cop, I still get nervous. It's about being conscience of EVERYTHING you do, just because one slip, whether accidental or not, he's going to probably see.

I think that you feel nervous because you know you might do something wrong. That doesn't make them corrupt or anything. After all, it is their job to enforce the laws. That's why we're nervous, because we don't want to be caught doing anything wrong, but they're just there to make sure we al follow the rules.
In my dorm we have a night supervisor who walks around the dorm at about 2 am, 4 am, and 6am. Even if I'm not doing anything "bad" like having boys in my room past midnight on a weeknight or drinking, I'm still nervous when she walks around. Why? Because her job is to make sure that everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing. If she didn't, there wouldn't be any need for her to even come to work. She's a great person, but I still get nervous around her, because I don't want to slip up.
It's the same thing with cops. Yeah, there are some corrupt cops, but there are also corrupt doctors and corrupt teachers. So it's not really fair to say that they suck.
